Alternative Cancer Therapies

 9.0 The next approach

If the above information has been discouraging to you then lets look at some alternatives. There is some very positive news that could save your life. Some non sanctioned cures have been around for a number of years while other are relatively new. Most are not well known not even by physicians who were unfortunately never taught them in school. You will also have to remember that even though you may have one of the best physicians available, he is limited legally in what he prescribes to you as a cancer treatment. Officially there are only 3 approved methods, surgical, radiation and chemotherapy. He is limited to these no matter what. If however you discuss with him or her any alternative cancer cures then they can support you in your thinking and agree to let you try them. Do not expect them to be overly enthusiastic about these potential cures as they are limited as to their actions. They can, however, endorse them as beneficial aids or nutritional supplements.

Should you not be satisfied with your physician and feel that he or she is too narrow minded about what you are proposing then I would recommend that you contact an organization called "People against Cancer". They have information available on practitioners who are more favorably inclined to support your thinking about alternative cancer treatments. Their phone number is (515) 972-4444 and they are located in Otho, Iowa.

I will discuss in the next section a number of various cancer treatments that I have come across in the literature that I have read. Some have been have found in ethnic herbal shop in foreign countries. Additionally, I have included some Eastern medicinal cures. Incidentally their incentive to change is not based on where a technique or concept was developed, who developed it, or how long ago it was discovered. It is based solely on one thing. If it works, they use it. It is that simple. This is particularly apparent when it comes to treating diseases. In my opinion the source of the cure is totally unimportant, the results are what count.

Some are the result of research by physicians and researchers and some are old remedies that have been around for years. Unfortunately the statistical data as to the success of these methods generally does not exist, but where it does I have included it however, each one will have to be evaluated on its own merit.

Additionally I have included a section on the immune system as recent research has pointed to a connection between cancer and the immune system. I will discuss immune enhancers and immune suppressers separately.

Many researchers believe then that the solution to cancer should be approached by following the lifestyle and diets of those who do not develop cancer. Additionally one should consider some of the cancer cures that have been shown to work in the past. Personally, if I had cancer I would employ a number of these natural, non toxic cure simultaneously. I would feel that my chances of achieving remission would be enhanced by a combination of methods.

Regarding the conventional cancer cures, operations, chemotherapy, and radiation, that should be left it to the discretion of the individual and their doctor to determine which path to follow. The medical industry has done a good job of reporting the success rates of the various types of cancer cures and so a patient can determine what their own survival rate will be using the orthodox methods.

One thing is evident radiation and chemotherapy may provide positive results as may the different cures that are discussed in this book but the long term survival will probably be compromised unless the body's immune system is strengthened to take over the fight. This may be achieved by both dietary changes and nutritional supplements.
