When we sift through the ashes of what has been our approach to cancer we realize that we have been deceived by a fraudulent approach based on incorrect premises. A whole new paradigm is required, a new way of thinking, the old approach is seriously flawed.

The defendants of a political system called communism held tight to their incorrect approach until the bitter end when the countries that practiced it were virtually bankrupt. Unfortunately even these glaring examples, in the light of prosperous economies, still did not deter some of the elite from trying to regain control after Russia had initially gained freedom. Why, because they were following an incorrect belief that was handed down to them, and most lacked the vision of reality. Their beliefs were not subject to statistical evaluation but were well founded in emotional turmoil.

Our present approach to cancer is a similar situation, not only does the approach not work well but the present medical establishment armed with legislative mandates is quick to silence those that may have made significant inroads to uncover solutions. Not only does the present medical establishment limit progress but it would appear that they eliminate any competition that may prove them wrong. There have been numerous cases of clinics successfully treating cancer that were shut down by the AMA not because they were less successful than the officially sanctioned ones, but because they were using unorthodox techniques and or run by non medical doctors. One has to ask it if is more important to stand on formality or achieve results and save lives. This actually borders on criminal behavior and is supported by existing legislation.

As an example of beneficial groups that were shut down by the medical establishments we have, Renee Caisse, a Canadian nurse who obtained a formula in 1922 from a patient who said the mixture of herbs cured her of breast cancer. It was given to her by an Ojibway medicine man. Although hundreds of cancer cures were documented, the Canadian medical establishment forced Caisse out of business in the early 1940's. Her formula was never accepted by most doctors, but hopeless patients continued to stream to Caisse's little house in Ontario. In 1959, Caisse traveled to Boston to work at the prestigious Brusch Medical Center. There her formula gained credence as doctors found it decreased tumor masses, changed cell formations and brought a cessation of pain to dozens of patients. Although this formula is now available in health food stores in the United States and Canada under the name Flor-Essence, it can only be labeled as a food additive and not a cancer cure and you can almost be certain that your doctor will not even know about it.

Harry Hoxsey, a former coal miner, used an herbal cancer remedy reportedly handed down in his family since 1840, when his great-grandfather devised the formula after watching a cancerous horse cure itself by grazing on medicinal herbs. The basic formula, taken internally or externally, uses nine herbs, including licorice, red clover, cascara, burdock root, and stillingia root. A dietary regime, vitamins, and immune stimulation are part of the Hoxsey therapy as practiced today. By 1955, Hoxsey's Dallas clinic, with over 12,000 patients, was the world's largest privately owned cancer-treatment facility. Hoxsey was frequently arrested for practicing without a license. In 1960, his clinics were banned in the United States. The AMA labeled Hoxsey a dangerous quack, but it refused to investigate the Hoxsey medicines or to evaluate their efficacy. Subsequently, two federal courts upheld the "therapeutic value" of Hoxsey's internal tonic and a 1953 federal report to Congress confirmed Hoxsey's charges of a "conspiracy" by the AMA, the NCI, and the FDA to "suppress" an impartial assessment of his methods. The AMA later admitted that Hoxsey's external medication had merit. Rather than partnering up with this man and thoroughly investigating his cures the "not invented here symptom" had him shut down and railroaded out of town.

There is also the case of a Dr. Schultz; this man was labeled as a master herbalist. He generally only took patients who were on the verge of death that had been unsuccessfully treated by traditional medical practices. It is claimed that he cured numerous cases of terminal cancer, heart related diseases, tumors, AIDS, liver ailments and numerous other diseases. But he paid a price and had to operate an underground clinic, take only referrals, protect his true identity and operate in secrete. Living like a fugitive he helped many people before the authorities arrested him and put him in jail. His clinic is now out of business. Relegated to never practicing again and curing incurable diseases, he can now only teach his techniques. 6

Virtually every cancer remedy that will appear in this book is banned by the existing medical establishment as a treatment for cancer. Fortunately these remedies and others are still available today, but none can be labeled as cancer treatments and no store that sell any of these products will even be allowed to state that they are beneficial for the treatment of cancer. The first amendment still enables us to disseminate information however related to this subject but I am restricted from giving you medical advice or recommendations, I can only present the information to you so you can discuss it with you doctor. Of course he has never been taught any of these non toxic cancer remedies and he is restricted from treating cancer with any of these remedies or as mentioned he could loose his license. This is the most incredible "catch 22 situation " that I could possibly imagine and we through our tax dollars support this situation.

It has been amazing to me that most of the traditional efforts by the officially sanctioned medical organizations have been geared towards treatment of the symptoms and not the cause. This is a very important error and one that if pursued will continue on the same dismal path of success. Surgical removal of the tumor, radiation or application of chemotheraputic drugs that will attack the tumor has been the only approach. Proportionally little effort has been directed towards finding out why the tumor formed or how the body's natural defense mechanism can attack and destroy the cancer. We will however approach these very topics in this book.

One additional comment on the NCI (National Cancer Institute) and its approach to cancer. Can you imagine being chairman of an organization and reporting after 35 years of trying to solve a problem like cancer that you had spent billions of dollars and that your results were basically a failure. Your outlook for the future was however continuing on the same flawed path that you had followed for the last 35 years; you were going to treat the symptoms instead of the cause.

No private organization would ever allow this dismal record of failure to exist because they would be bankrupt. They would have fired their leaders and reorganized almost immediately. It is truly only a government endorsed organization, that has no competition, that could pull off such behavior and through proper marketing still hold the respect of the general population. Fueled by minor breakthroughs they will continue on this same technologically bankrupt path until they are stopped either through a lack of funding or legislative changes. It truly is time for us to make some changes.

I hope that by the time that you get to this section that you are dam mad and are willing to write to your congressman to discuss your views on the subject and propose legislation that would end the monopoly that presently exists.
